I Used to Worry About AI Taking Jobs. Here’s What Changed My Mind.

A lot of people are nervous about AI right now. I get it. You hear the same stories over and over — AI is coming for jobs, everything is changing too fast, and somehow you’re supposed to keep up.

I started Assisted Intel because I believe that fear is mostly misplaced. AI isn’t here to replace you. It’s here to take the boring, repetitive parts of your work so you can focus on the things that actually matter.

AI Turns You Into a Manager

Think about how most managers spend their day. They hand off tasks, review the work, and give feedback. They don’t do every single thing themselves.

That’s the shift AI creates for the rest of us.

Instead of writing the same type of email five different times, you can tell an AI the facts once and let it draft the messages. You still stay in control. You still decide what gets sent. You just stop doing the parts that drain your time and energy.

The AI is usually polite. It doesn’t get tired. And when you learn how to guide it properly, the results get better over time.

A Simple Example Most People Can Use Today

Let’s say you have twenty minutes before lunch and three emails that need to go out. They’re basically the same message with small differences.

You can open a chat, tell the AI:

  • Who the emails are going to
  • The key facts (for example, “we’re up 2% in sales this quarter”)
  • The tone you want

Then you refine the drafts instead of starting from scratch. That small change adds up fast when you do it every day.

The goal isn’t to sound like a robot. The goal is to sound clear, direct, and human — just without the extra mental load of writing every sentence yourself.

What an “AI Skill” Actually Is

This is one of the most useful ideas I want to share on this channel.

A skill is basically a saved set of instructions you give an AI so it does a specific task the way you like it, every single time.

Imagine you want a weather report, but you only care about certain things. You don’t care if it’s cloudy. You do care if it’s going to be hot, comfortable, or cold according to your definition.

You can create a skill that already knows:

  • Anything above 90° is hot
  • 70–80° is comfortable
  • Below 50° is cold

Next time you just say “weather zone” and it gives you the answer using your rules. You don’t have to re-explain yourself every time.

That’s the power of skills. They turn one-time prompting into a repeatable system.

I’ll be sharing free skills like this in the weekly newsletter.

Running AI on Your Own Computer

A lot of people feel locked into big providers. You don’t have to be.

There are solid open-source tools (Ollama is one of the easiest starting points) that let you run capable models on your own machine. No constant internet connection required for every request, more privacy, and more control.

I’ll be covering how to set that up in future videos, including a project I’ve been working on called Local Streaming Token.

What’s Coming Next

My plan is simple: three videos a week for the foreseeable future. Some will stay beginner-friendly. Others will go deeper into practical systems, local setups, and the skills that actually move the needle.

If you want the free skills and weekly tips, the newsletter is the best place to get them.

You can sign up at assistedintel.com.

AI doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Once you stop fighting it and start directing it, it becomes one of the most useful tools you can have.

Let’s get started.
